On the significant date of the Golden Jubilee of the Singapore-India Diplomatic Relationship, the event at the Indian High Commission was filled with a patriotic air as a collective sense of pride and independence reverberated throughout the event. Representatives from the various Indian educational institutions established in Singapore participated in the program. The NPS International School had students from IB Year 1 give an excellent dance performance. The recital given by the students was a mash-up of the two songs celebrated as modern emblems of independence, 'Des Mere' and 'Chak De! India'. Shortly after the dance number, the group was interviewed by Radio Masti, a popular Indian radio station in Singapore. It was widely recognized among the officials and the audience as one of the best dances given to commemorate the Indian Independence Day.
