The Early Childhood Programme
The Montessori programme and the Kindergarten programmes are offered at the early childhood level.
The Montessori programme, a course of 3 year duration, offered to 3 year old children, is based on traditional Montessori principles of multi-sensory and sequential learning. Specially designed equipment and learning resource provides interesting and valuable learning opportunities for children at a self directed pace.
The Kindergarten programme is for a duration of two years and is offered to students at 4 years of age. The two entry points in to the Kindergarten are at 4 years of age, into Lower Kindergarten or at 5 years of age, into Upper Kindergarten. A larger number of carefully designed, hands-on, interactive learning experiences builds a strong academic foundation in children.
Both early learning programmes, are highly successful and enjoyable for early learners, and result in acquisition of sound literacy and numeracy skills. The school uses Jolly Phonics as a first step to reading for the beginners, while the emerging readers are presented with elements of the Oxford reading scheme. Both Jolly Phonics and the Oxford reading tree are tried and tested schemes providing a sound foundation for developing reading and writing skills in children.
