Non-Scholastic Streams

At NPS we offer a wide range of activities to develop the students varied interests and talents.

The ECA program is considered an extension of the Foundation Physical Education Curriculum at NPSIS. The programs and each activity are typically offered after school for a one term duration (10 - 12 weeks). These activities have a separate activity fee.

A term's ECA program culminates in a NPSIS inter - house competition in all sports and thus provide students to develop team spirit and have competition experiences with a 'For Fun and Fair Play' focus.

Students are encouraged to explore and choose from a variety of activities from the areas of music, drama, art and sports that include hockey, football, basketball, cricket, tennis, floorball, swimming, gymnastics and many more.

Beyond developing students' interest and talents in the sporting arena and on the performing stage, students at NPSIS are guided to understand the importance and value of making a contribution to the community and support less fortunate people of all ages and from various backgrounds. From a young age students regularly visit hospitals, old people's homes, and in addition engage in fund raising events towards worthwhile causes.

Outdoor Adventures and Trips

We strive to enhance on students' classroom based learning and offer enriching experiences and challenges in the outdoor environment. In groups the students travel to various destinations such as Pulau Ubin (off the Singapore coast, Pulau Sibu (Malaysia), Bintan (Indonesia) and Taman Negara National Park (Malaysia) to engage in activities such as snorkelling, sailing, horse riding, jungle trekking and explore a variety of different cultures and customs in the process. These special learning opportunities are critical in building students' self esteem and confidence, and offer more mature students to develop valuable leadership qualities.

Such outdoor trips are offered on payment of costs by the students to defray the trip expenses.
