NPS International School is pleased to welcome its first member of the Advisory Board.

Mr Er Kwong Wah, former Permanent Secretary, Government of Singapore and currently a Governor at Raffles Institution and Executive Director at East Asia Institute of Management joins us as member of the Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board will consist of eminent educationists, scholars, and managers and will advise the School in its pursuit of academic excellence and holistic education.

Mr. Er Kwong Wah

Mr. Er Kwong Wah was a member of the Singapore Government Administrative Service for 27 years and had served in various ministries such as the Ministry of Defense, the Public Service Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Community Development. He held Permanent Secretary Position first with the Ministry of Education and then with the Ministry of Community Development until his retirement.

As Permanent Secretary of Education, he was involved in the planning and development of the universities, polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education, numerous schools in Singapore and the Singapore International School in Hong Kong. Even after his retirement from the Singapore Civil Service, he was actively involved in the Education Sector as a Governor of United World College of South East Asia, and a Trustee of SIM University.

At present, he is a member of the Board of Governors of Raffles Institution in Singapore. He is also an Executive Director of the East Asia Institute of Management. Additionally, he sits as an independent non-executive director on the Board of several public companies.

Mr Er has been conferred the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (1990), the Commandeur dans l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques by the Government of France (1991), the Public Service Medal (2004) and the Public Service Star (2009). In 2013, he was a recipient of the Service to Education Award from the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
