Infinity 2020 was put together in an effort to enhance 21st Century skills and deeper understanding of connections across subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Held on 28th – 31st January, our students undertook enquiry-based learning for two days, followed by a Team Challenge Day and the Presentation Day during which they showcased the results of their collaborative research and projects to their parents. We have received encouraging feedback and excellent turn out of visitors who came to give their valuable support to our students.
On 22nd and 23rd of January, NPSI secondary school annual production took place at The Republic Cultural Centre, Republic Polytechnic. Titled “Navarasa”, the engaging production was a medley of musical performances, dance numbers and plays. Well-rehearsed performances coupled with fantastic costumes and stage sets, Navarasa successfully took the audience on a roller-coaster ride of emotions while raising awareness on global issues. Amidst the supportive audience of around 1500, was our Dean, Dr Bindu Hari.
Our fourth Social Sciences and Languages Exhibition took place on 9th November Saturday. Entitled “Celebrating South and South East Asia”, the exhibition consisted of various sections namely, English, Hindi, French, Tamil, Mandarin, Spanish, History, Geography, Economics, Psychology, Accounting, Global Perspectives and Business and Management. Students from grades 6-11 had put in tremendous efforts to set up the wide array of exhibits which included games, quizzes and even puppet shows. The exhibition was well appreciated by visitors and parents.
NPSI Invitational Night Basketball Tournament 2019 was held in the evening of 9th November Saturday. Competing against four other teams in single round robin matches, team NPSI displayed an impressive level of skill, athleticism and teamwork, leading the game from the start. The exciting event ended with team NPSI clinching top spot as champions for the tournament.
For Annual Day on Thursday 3rd October 2019, the Early Years students performed a lively musical entitled “A Day in Singapore.” With well-choreographed moves, multilingual songs and ethnic costumes, they put up an impressive show to celebrate the diversity of the community Singapore.
For this year’s Annual Day on 13th September, our primary students took us on a wonderful journey into the world of fairy tale. In a captivating musical play, the characters were dressed in animal costumes and make-up as they acted scenes from “The Jungle Book”. Against colourful hand-painted stage backdrops, it was such a delightful performance.
NPSI Annual Carnival 2019 was a resounding success! On top of the joyful performances by students and teachers, visitors are spoilt for choice in the variety of fun activities which include, fun games, exhilarating rides and glorious spread of delicious food. The menu included Pani Puri, Vada Pav, Samosa Chat, Pita bread and many more!
Our annual Secondary School Sports day took place on the 23rd of August 2019. As students and teachers participated in the exciting activities, the lively atmosphere at the stadium was set ablaze by colourful banners and flags. In high spirits, the secondary students also performed the unity dance
635 athletes. 493 matches. 87 teams.
This year’s sports achievements were celebrated at the 7th Annual Sports Awards function, held on the 27th of April at SUTD. 28 prestigious awards were given to the most deserving sportspeople of the year. With over 1,200 people in attendance, the event was a grand display of the accomplishments of the sports department at NPS International. The event was officiated by Ms Stephanie Tan, a Singaporean tennis player who ranks within the top 500 WTA players internationally. Ms Tan represented Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games in 2017.
